Living With Peace

I am at peace with my past, though it still trips up my present now. The things that push me forward, disturb my inner joy. What lies beneath the surface, is hidden from all view The peace that I enquire on, daily gets to be renewed.   Peace does not run before me, nor do I leave it behind The way that life unfolds for me, is different and always kind. As I think about the hope I feel, and the future not far away. Peace knocks my heart’s door, and I let it in My peace is here to stay.   01/10/2021   Please share your thoughts, comments, emojis with me! Coconut Time and The Business

Entrepreneurship and starting a   business  is a long term commitment. It can take a short or long time to move from developing your idea, creating a plan, developing a business plan, and testing your model to go to market. There are many ways to approach your objective, and reach your goals, but one thing is sure – it will take time to grow. Everyone has a different style  and way of doing things, and business development does not always follow academic or theoretical guidelines, though it helps with preparation. Getting your business started takes action, and direction, simply put – you have to plant the seed for the tree to grow and bear fruit. If you never plant the seed, and keep your idea in ‘developing/ideation stage’ there is nothing to grow. In business for growth  to take place trade actions and initiatives have to be present. You have to get it out there, and engage your product/ service with consumers. Everyone may not buy what you’re selling/offering, bu...

A Meadow Of Grace

The grassy bed up on the hill. Was a place to escape For my daily thrill. To go outside away from it all Was my secret place With everyone around. The space alone was under a tree, With only the lizards to bother me. You can see the grotto, Where the priests would pray. It was a sanctuary, A place I wanted to stay. You can call it a meadow, because of the ground It’s what comes to mind if meadows are to be found. Yet still if I consider My Scottish retreat many years ago, I walked through some meadows, And never wanted to go home. The air was very different, from my tropical breeze, The birds and the sky seemed to envelope me. Every moment I was able to run wild and free, Was a moment I rejoiced for the blessing from Thee. Blessed beyond measure, to discover another secret place, Made for me by Jesus,  a meadow of grace.   8/06/2021 Inspired by a prompt from Eugi’s Causerie . Thank you for stopping by. Please shar...

Thinking back

No longer playful I used to be. The trees always beckoned me. Loved hiking, the water, trekking in the wild. Playfully lit with spontaneous smiles.   No longer playful I used to be. Running a thousand steps, happily. As the gates opened, my strides went to the line. Playfully running; happiness was mine.   Forgot how to be playful Probably too old to be. It requires activity, that feels uneasy. Got to get back that spark, and desire for fun The clock has been ticking; its time for the sun.   Thinking back from the past Reflections have begun, On the days when playing was actually done. Will book me a weekend, at a place far away Hopefully I will find, some time to play!   Eugi’s Causerie weekly prompt has inspired the above!   Thank you for stopping by. My Canopy

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Jiawei Qian   A Canopy of Faith Which I profess My life is a story Of the times, I’ve been blessed. A childhood of joy, mirrored with some pain and sadness But there is always my hope My life in this world.   There are very few times My faith has not been tested Indeed, but for my beloved Jesus My heart would not have rested. This canopy of hope has resulted from my faith The lessons from life Proved my God is great.   I’m covered by a canopy Which keeps me safe at night Giving me protection Cloaking with its light. As my destiny unfolds Let me share this with you Jesus Christ is a canopy; for me and for you. 02/04/2021 Thank you for stopping by. Dancing Swirls

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Ahmed Odeh Dance, yes you girl Make the wind swirl, Around your legs As you pivot and float. Jump up high and hold onto the air Your swirling dance moves, without a care.   You don’t stand still With the music swirling around Everyone is amazed Yet you never hear a sound. Dance, yes you girl It was always meant to be The rhythm and your movement Just perfection and harmony.   29/03/2021 Thank  you for stopping by. Swirling Thoughts

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Marek Okon You got me stumped, Now I must think. How can I even contemplate, the idea of swirling? Its either an ice-cream being swirled in a mix, Or maybe it’s some plasticine, Made from rows of colored sticks? I’m not sure if I got this one, And I’m not sure if I can see, If anything around can swirl into my brain, Just to make sense of this word ‘swirl’ for me.   At first I thought maybe its dancing, With my skirt swirling around my knees, But suddenly realized I’d fall flat on my face If some swirling really took place! Considering next a few splashes of paint Thrown on a paper to create a design, Suddenly that swirl made a lot of sense Understanding right before my eyes. So okay Eugenia, think I’ve got a writing plan And a way to take swirl ‘mainstream’. Kindly make it a little easier, for me to think again Cause this one, is hodgepodge on my screen!   26/03/2021 Thank You for stopping ...

A Rainbow Story

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Hedi Benyounes Raced up the hill to look outside To see the rainbow colors which cannot hide The grass was wet And down I rolled Beyond my house Far down the narrow road. The birds looked on Chirping in delight The dogs stepped aside To see my disaster flight. The sun shifted past the clouds Exclaiming with glee Come out and let’s play And bring your family! As I landed at the bottom of the hill, Lay on my back, For a moment very still. Gazing up at the sky,  It was simply wonderful to see The rainbow was looking right down at me. What a beautiful sight As the birds made their songs, The puppy and the frogs All jumped up and down. Contentment and joy Descended from above, Softly whispering to me, Here is the rainbow you love! 20/03/2021   Thank you for stopping by. A Rainbow Of Hope

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Jason Pognacnik There are rainbows in life that tip the scales They come when life happens When good intentions fail. If suddenly you feel sadness and fear Just remember a rainbow is waiting right there. You see, the rain must fall For the grass to grow, And there must be some weather For the waterways to flow. The thunders must sound to keep us cozy inside There must be some noise To help the little children hide. For the rainbow to come, The rain must subside, Cause looking out through the window The colors will come alive. It’s a symbol of hope And a lesson for folks to see, That even when you cry Eventually, you can be happy. The rainbow only comes forward After the rain is in the past, Its your miracle when life happens To say tough times will never last!     19/03/2021 Eugi’sCauserie weekly prompt is the inspiration for this poem. Dwordslayer quotes - Change

This year has been filled with changes. The end is coming and so to the beginning. The one certainty is change, and adapting is a given if we must survive and thrive. This quote is taken from Change, time and relationships  (2018) and gives us something to consider as we move forward. What do you think will be different next year? Do you think you will welcome the new, or will you cling to the old? Going back is not an option, so why not make each change count?  Keep safe. Dwordslayer

Speranza means Hope

Speranza I have hope That one day I will sit at my window And look out into the sky Everything will be okay And I will not worry or contemplate My next best move In that moment The strategy of living Will simply be to live. There will be some yellow and orange flowers Somewhere close by And I will gaze at them Enjoying their beauty. Maybe a fly will come buzzing And I won’t chase it away Because in that moment I will have hope I will be in a place of rest Desolation and sadness Will not overcome me As everything will have a moment to be Away from the fervent pace Called life. I have hope That the sounds of Reo Speedwagon Enya and Bryan Adams will linger in the air And I will sing along And the birds will know and sing with me. I have hope that My little window will be Wherever I want it to be And my happiness in The stillness of beauty and time Will be enough While living. I have hope that everything Does n...

Life quotes by Dwordslayer - differences

As we come to the end of 2020, checking through archives and sharing some quotes from posts. First comes from one of my favorites "Of Panties and People: Fads and choices" (2018) What are you thoughts on this, as we near the end of another year. How tolerant are you? How open are you to others who think differently? Keep safe and understanding of each other.  Peace and love. Dwordslayer

Sleepless but inspired

Hey world... I’ve been anxious, worried, and afraid. There is a lot of stuff going on this year, and as December draws near, it feels as though I am depleted. There is nothing more I can give. Sleep is hard, because I won’t allow myself the freedom to accept that I’ve been speeding through life, because if I drive slowly, my dreams will leave me. So how are you doing today human? When do you stop pushing yourself beyond what is possible? Who is chasing you when you are chasing your dreams with those ridiculous deadlines set, because your survival is not based on nutrition, but on some standards mere mortals will never attain? Stop. Slow down. Breathe. The eye of the storm is where you need to find calm, peace, and acceptance of self. It is okay to stop because you need to. Let everything that matters become what does not matter because you need to take care of you. Be brave and be vulnerable. Cry. Free yourself of the things that make you anxious, worried, and afraid....

Picture Perfect

Life is never Picture Perfect! The selfie is a wonderful creation in my opinion. I can set the camera to take that 'perfect pic', positioning myself, lighting, smile, and any other expression. I can delete the ones that look uncomplimentary and anything that spoofs what the public sees.  Life is picture perfect when its presented, and the memories will hide what folks should not see sometimes. Weaknesses and failures are not on display.  Hmm, but life is never picture perfect.  Looking back at the early years, it seems that  now, I'm recalling the heartaches, pains, hurts, and griefs, as the good times, success, and wonderful childhood adventures together. That perfect picture does not exist in my memory. It does not exist in truth.  Balancing on the tightrope is what helps to get to the next level stronger. Its how I became stronger. Accepting the learning from the challenges and setbacks ...

Too Many To Count

It's too many to count! There are too many times when the wrong thing is said. Too many times when backing down is not an option- at least from my perspective. With so many things that have gone wrong in my life , there is so much more that has been right. The framing of all your experiences can change as time changes. It is okay to see things from a different angle. This is the beauty of time. Can you count the pebbles in the picture, but do you really want to? You see, sometimes it is not what is facing us that is the challenge, but how we see the task. Maybe the amount of pebbles do not matter, but what matters is they are placed before us, in a way that seems confusing and out of place and order.  If you look closely at the pebbles a few stand out.  Different and imperfect shapes and sizes, but we do see them. I see you among the pebbles, and count you.  Be blessed and encouraged. Copyright © 2020 Donna-Luisa Eversley and Dwordslayer. All Rights Reserved

Twilight Zone - Life Tip 1

What to do when you don't know what to do. If you ever feel boxed into a corner to do something which you know is wrong, and your core is twisted on what to do - do what you know is the right thing - then stand aside and let God take over. During our youth we compromise before that painful hurting experience. As we get older decision-making gets easier or harder based on adjusted values and beliefs. You see life lessons can take us into that 'informed zone of understanding' and we can choose to modify behavior based on compromise and comfort level. As we grow even older, it seems that the cost of compromise can be a too high a cost because wisdom can kick in - and that's a good thing. The twilight of day comes after we live through a day, and reflect on outcomes. You can grimace or smile in that moment! Growing up I looked to my elders to teach me about life through their lessons, as an elder (hahaha) it has come full circle, now the student has become the teacher. T...

Sharing that not so good review!

Giving the r eviews... What do you do when you want to leave a realistic honest review but know the other side won't take it well?  In the past I would never be afraid about sharing a review which is negative, however we live in a society where less than positive reviews are frowned upon. Everyone's opinion is just that... an opinion. If the experience one had is negative, should that review not be shared?  There is a saying I've developed over the years, "If himself tells himself he is good, then he is good in his vision and his reality is himself!". From political, social, religious, and even personal perceptions, growth can only be exponential if the views and others are considered. It does not mean we must change to suit others, but simply means everyone is not receiving what we think we are giving. There is also the perspective that coming out of differences we can learn and improve. I recall at an office party for an outgoing manager ...
