Let Me Get To Extraordinary

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Denys Nevozhai Let me get to extraordinary Life keeps getting better all the time Makes me smile. There are many places to know, I’m just itching to go. I just want to see everything this world can present at my feet That’s extraordinary. Taking the pencil beyond its sphere, To find what life is doing to me here. I’m at a place that I don’t want forever to keep me, Want to feel the sand, In another land. Touch, taste and see, Want everything for me To be extraordinary!   11/03/2021   Eugi’s Causerie weekly prompt is the inspiration for this poem. Dreamcatcher and The Prince

Dream Catcher and the Prince Standing above I look at my prince fast asleep. He’s one of my favorites His dreams are memories. The moments he misses With mist filled eyes. A million little kisses From his mom when alive. Dreamcatcher, I am Holder of dreams Happiness and danger And other things that are unseen. I stretch my hand to guide The light towards my charge It’s a wonder he’s even sleeping His happiness is a mirage. Subconsciously my prince knows Sun comes out after rain Hidden deep in his heart He dreams of his mother again. Digging deep into his sleep And my Dreamcatcher’s nest I’m searching for memories To help him find rest. The Dreamcatchers goal Is to help happiness unfold Taking him to God For his mother to hold. His memories feel sadly real And this night will require a disguise I’m hoping his memory mother will visit To hold him till it’s time to arise. I send my silver net Filled with his tears and dreams She whispers to him Telling wonderful stories. As I look a...

Dreamcatcher Tales

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Andrew Baxter/Ella Jardim Dreamcatcher Tales The winds blew hard And the raindrops tip-toed The shutters banged, And the doors blew open. That flash of light, Sails into a bedroom scene The dreamcatcher comes knocking To release your fantasies. Cinderella had her stories Snow White and Rapunzel too. The big book when it opens tells how dreams can come true. With a click of the heels, and red shoes for a prize, The Dreamcatcher comes knocking, to give your surprise. The leprechauns and fairies, Birds, frogs and trees, Tell wonderful stories of how things can be. When the night comes, the enchantment, and hidden surprise, Give life to all the wonders hidden beneath your Dreamcatcher’s eyes. Of the stars and the moon, that play upon your pillow and slumber, flashes the Dreamcatcher Who anticipates your wonders. The butterflies and owls, are the midnights servers and friends, bringing all dreams To a wonderous end. The Dreamcatchers web, holds the horrible tales...

After Romance

Photo Credits: unsplash,com/Ivana Medic After Romance… Can’t let you sweep me off my feet I’ve learnt that romance can be quite cheap A few words and whispers Then suddenly it’s all guile But it soon will be over Romance will die No sadness intended but romance should be banned It deserves to go hiding In fairytale Wonderland Don’t think I am still a fool Romance died soon after My graduation from school The butterflies have stopped living In my belly and my head Experience has taught me Timeless love may be dead Let the man I have yet to meet understand Romance left me waiting in another land Romance may be dead for me But for you I will pray That you find someone to love and romance you In that perfect special way. The best is yet to come, but take no advice from me Romance is okay if it makes you happy. 11/02/2021 Copyright ©2021 Dwordslayer & Donna-Luisa Eversle...

Romance Gone Wrong

Photo Credits:unsplash.com/Kelly Sikkema Romance gone wrong I used to dream that I would meet Someone who would love me completely He would want to give the roses a chance And he would find just the right music To give me romance. For many years I read and created a mold A man above all who’s love would unfold Before his heart would be left unfulfilled He would want to be with me A romantic way to live Yet, many moons have since past My slipper is lost, The prince in my fairy tale Replaced by frogs with no songs My Romance gone wrong Still, in my older years I still hope maybe The elusive romance will somehow find me And I will be tasked to dig deep And compromise Romance or folly, temptation may be denied What is the romance we desire when we wait When the fantasy plays in your heart and the dance stops before it begins What re...

Winter Dreams

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Jack Finnigan Winter Dreams I walked outside to a chilly breeze The weather I love makes me freeze. My mittens are on and my scarf wound tight. Going out to do shopping and get home before night. Winter in London is happiness to me It’s a tropical reversal And all I want it to be. Catching my first flight Eight hours away I found to my surprise, I wanted to stay. The clothes and the fashion The food and the fun My first visit to London in winter, Was loved by everyone. When my business was finished It was onto the sights And I was ever so entranced by the cold winter’s night. I never felt the frost bite Nor the chattering of my teeth. It was pubbing and laughter I was in my glee. The day came too soon when I had to say goodbye My heart now belongs to a cold winter’s night. A fairytale that ...

Speranza means Hope

Speranza I have hope That one day I will sit at my window And look out into the sky Everything will be okay And I will not worry or contemplate My next best move In that moment The strategy of living Will simply be to live. There will be some yellow and orange flowers Somewhere close by And I will gaze at them Enjoying their beauty. Maybe a fly will come buzzing And I won’t chase it away Because in that moment I will have hope I will be in a place of rest Desolation and sadness Will not overcome me As everything will have a moment to be Away from the fervent pace Called life. I have hope That the sounds of Reo Speedwagon Enya and Bryan Adams will linger in the air And I will sing along And the birds will know and sing with me. I have hope that My little window will be Wherever I want it to be And my happiness in The stillness of beauty and time Will be enough While living. I have hope that everything Does n...

Out of the Box Thinking

Innovation and growth are present to disrupt the status quo.  We can learn on many levels and in multiple areas based on differences. The key for growth with differences is to harness newness and build on improvements. Seek out what can make differences work.  Innovate and create building on uniqueness because this is discovery. We are facing different right now. It’s time to think outside of the box. #discovery #disruption #differences #innovation #dream   Find me on: Twitter  https://twitter.com/DLE41  or email:  dwordslayer@gmail.com Photo Credit:  Eirik Uhlen www. unsplash.com © Donna-Luisa Eversley and D-WORDSLAYER, 2020. Seize the day - now!

There are many times we wait for tomorrow. It is not promised.  We may wait for life to change and become more palatable sometimes. Then, there are moments when we wait longingly for hope to step in and make all the changes we desire. Hope is waiting for the future. To wait means standing still and allowing 'hope' to take charge. No matter how you spin it, the future is something we may never see.  Yet we believe that change can happen, and we hope that tomorrow will happen today. Then, time passes. We grow older. Our expectations and wishes may come to fruition or the waiting game will continue. As you read my words I'm sure you are waiting for the subject of this post. Every word that passes should take you to 'what is this all about'. If this is your thought, you have experienced the subject. It is about time. It is about our forevers which can be happening as we speak in real time.  I've been waiting for my kids to grow up. Waiting to get married. Waiting ...

The past is best left alone!

Keeping the past locked away in the past. The temptation to look back and wish is easy, especially when only good memories are at the front of your mind. Remember the past is 'what was' and the present is 'what is .' The future will be whatever you want it to be. Keep moving forward. I wrote the above recently and shared via Facebook. It was triggered when a friend of mine shared her thoughts on a matter and someone I knew for a long time was mentioned. When I hear his name my heart still beats fast, but a hurt and sad feeling soon follows. Not all relationships are good. Not all relationships are worth saving. If someone cannot love you for who you are, don't try to be who they want. You can only be the best you, and anything else is a poor imitation of the beauty you are. Love happens when we are young and we can become idealistic when it does not mature as we wish. In fact, sometimes we forget the flaws and focus on the dreams. Dreams are exactly as we...

Love Choices, and mushy movies

Thoughts on a rainy Saturday I like to watch mushy romantic movies. They remind me of dreamy years, almost certainly eons ago. Most of these movies have a happy ever after ending, and they remind me that we choose our happiness path. So here are my thoughts on romantic love – it really is possible. I have seen many live stories and read many tales of forever after. I have even sat on the sidelines encouraging my friends in their love relationships. Looking in I am happy that love exists. Stop asking – why are you single? The love I know of did not last. I did not feel less than I should, because I was not the dream. The one you wish to wake up with in the morning, or the last person you want to see at night can be a fairytale or nightmare. The one to be loved and cherished, was not me. Does it make me less of a romantic or less real because I have spent most of my life chasing moonbeams while walking on the sands? Maybe I am the person with so much love to give, it’s too m...

Interviews and Beyond: Franci Eugenia Hoffman

We can learn a lot about a person from their past and their present, and if they will let us look beyond, we can find their hidden possibilities . This interview is about the way our imagination works. It is just a way of the storyteller, sharing another story. Each story is different, and yet they hold a treasure chest of  hope and possibilities ! I have asked Franci Eugenia Hoffman aka 'Brew & Spew' to embark on this challenge. This beautiful woman on your left looks like she is gazing deeply into your eyes, her thoughts hidden...at least for a short while! That smile says, "I see you" (hahaha) For our readers, imagine we are having a cup of coffee, whatever your favorite brew, and your thoughts go somewhere else. That wonderland is where my thoughts went as I sat imagining conversations with some of my favorite bloggers. Today I am pleased to share the questions and answers from this amazing writer. Sit back and relax as we go beyond the past to...

Alice Goes To The Moon

Hello dear friend it's  Alice again With Saint  Bear at my side Tonight we must sleep, quietly keep After taking a ride My pillow, gives me thoughts to think About all I wish for us to see My tired eyes keep closing Finally it’s time for dreams Tonight my hope is to see the moon With Saint bear at my side The sort of dream that takes us far On a galactic ride Saint Bear refuses to sleep I think he is afraid It’s good I brought my headset for him He can use it until he’s brave Take us to  the  moon, and back Let me touch the stars just this once Who knows what mysteries lies ahead Its an adventure for me and Saint Bear I can see the heavens and the earth beneath Oops, there goes something else I know It’s the pretty flip flops my granny sent Finding its way back home How great it is these nights of dreams When all daylight has passed I wish for night to always be My present and forever last Maybe my da...

Alice & Saint Bear

These stories about Alice are tales through my inner childhood eyes. The illustrations by Lei Lei are the inspiration for Alice and her Stuffed Whale Micah, Willow her pet cat, and Saint Bear her teddy-bear friend. When we sleep our dreams are powerful, so to are those of our children. Sharing stories of friendship , love hope and adventure, can inspire great moments for any child. This is my third story of Alice Its night time now and time for sleep I can’t close my eyes, because they weep Today momma took me out with my Saint Bear Saint Bear and I went everywhere... Tonight momma opens the door and peeks inside Alice looks up through very wet eyes “Alice, please don’t cry daddy will find him soon” Alice responds, “Saint Bear was lost since noon” Momma comes in and holds Alice tight “Go to sleep my dear, he will be home by daylight”. She stays until Alice falls asleep Places Micah at her side, and Willow at her feet Away in her slumber Alice did dr...

Alice & The Stormy Dream

Her name was Alice And she was eight Her room was her palace Her dreams different place Willow was her black cat A tabby of course Micah was her pet stuffed whale With him she was never lost  One night as she lay asleep A thunderstorm crept into her dreams She squeezed onto her stuffed Micah with willow at her heel The bed seemed filled with water The storm was raging fierce All she could see was the horizon As water covered her bed!  Micah sprung up to action He had to save his friend He understood the water And from where it all began T’was Alice eating ice cream She had hidden in her room Willow was happy sharing Even licking the spoon  He could hear her tummy roaring As he told her to hold on So he sped across the water With Willow holding on tightly - hoping not to drown As he got to their destination Alice awoke with a thud She gazed around at her room And wondered about the flood  Alice looked at Micah and Willow All three on ...

As The Story Says

The Fairy-tale  "Once upon a time , far away across the Caribbean Seas in a tiny island, a family of four little girls played in the sun. They lived with their mother alone as their dad went away to seek his fortune, never to return. The girls were taught about the continents, geography, romantic dreams and of course, the reality of life..." This story could be the beginning of any one of the fairy-tales, or  Enid Blyton Stories, but it is real. Life for many children growing up when I was younger was a romantic dream of sorts on many days. We lived on stories of fairies because we were part of the Girl Guide movement, and storytelling was the way we learned about right and wrong, good and bad. There were also stories from local folklore which seemed to give credence to the existence of  a magical kingdom. Even attending bible study and Sunday Mass seemed  to be a part of the fantasy conspiracy we called reality. It was not until I turned ten or eleven yea...
