Dancing Swirls

Dance, yes you girl

Make the wind swirl,

Around your legs

As you pivot and float.

Jump up high and hold onto the air

Your swirling dance moves, without a care.

You don’t stand still

With the music swirling around

Everyone is amazed

Yet you never hear a sound.

Dance, yes you girl

It was always meant to be

The rhythm and your movement

Just perfection and harmony.

Swirling Thoughts

You got me stumped,

Now I must think.

How can I even contemplate,

the idea of swirling?

Its either an ice-cream being swirled in a mix,

Or maybe it’s some plasticine,

Made from rows of colored sticks?

I’m not sure if I got this one,

And I’m not sure if I can see,

If anything around can swirl into my brain,

Just to make sense of this word ‘swirl’ for me.

At first I thought maybe its dancing,

With my skirt swirling around my knees,

But suddenly realized I’d fall flat on my face

If some swirling really took place!

Considering next a few splashes of paint

Thrown on a paper to create a design,

Suddenly that swirl made a lot of sense

Understanding right before my eyes.

So okay Eugenia, think I’ve got a writing plan

And a way to take swirl ‘mainstream’.

Kindly make it a little easier, for me to think again

Cause this one, is hodgepodge on my screen!

A Rainbow Story

Raced up the hill to look outside
To see the rainbow colors which cannot hide
The grass was wet
And down I rolled
Beyond my house
Far down the narrow road.
The birds looked on
Chirping in delight
The dogs stepped aside
To see my disaster flight.
The sun shifted past the clouds
Exclaiming with glee
Come out and let’s play
And bring your family!

As I landed at the bottom of the hill,
Lay on my back,
For a moment very still.
Gazing up at the sky,
It was simply wonderful to see
The rainbow was looking right down at me.
What a beautiful sight
As the birds made their songs,
The puppy and the frogs
All jumped up and down.
Contentment and joy
Descended from above,
Softly whispering to me,
Here is the rainbow you love!

A Rainbow Of Hope

There are rainbows in life that tip the scales

They come when life happens

When good intentions fail.

If suddenly you feel sadness and fear

Just remember a rainbow is waiting right there.

You see, the rain must fall

For the grass to grow,

And there must be some weather

For the waterways to flow.

The thunders must sound to keep us cozy inside

There must be some noise

To help the little children hide.

For the rainbow to come,

The rain must subside,

Cause looking out through the window

The colors will come alive.

It’s a symbol of hope

And a lesson for folks to see,

That even when you cry

Eventually, you can be happy.

The rainbow only comes forward

After the rain is in the past,

Its your miracle when life happens

To say tough times will never last!

Always Extraordinary

Do you really want to be extraordinary?

Let me go -

Not into the light but into the darkness.

Let me find that place where others fear to walk.

In the light, my light cannot be seen easily.

It is in the challenges,

That my glow will show,

And it takes the fears and greater effort,

To find that glorious difference.

If I walk into that unknown dark place,

It says that I am strong,

I am able,

I am not giving up,

I am not letting go of,

Taking chances and looking past risks,

Not letting go of hope, trust,

Not holding back on forgiveness and love.

Walking into that different and dark place,

Says that I am not afraid to be,

Extraordinary!

Let Me Get To Extraordinary

Let me get to extraordinary

Life keeps getting better all the time

Makes me smile.

There are many places to know,

I’m just itching to go.

I just want to see everything this world can present at my feet

That’s extraordinary.

Taking the pencil beyond its sphere,

To find what life is doing to me here.

I’m at a place that I don’t want forever to keep me,

Want to feel the sand,

In another land.

Touch, taste and see,

Want everything for me

To be extraordinary!

An Empowered Life...Watch Me As I Walk

Watch Me As I Walk

Watch me as I walk
My hips may shake a bit
These legs they still look strong
No heels on to give them a lift
My shoulders don't slouch
And my waist is a wee bit round
But I'm sure you will not notice
As I strut and sing my song.
I've got the silver streaks
My hair has lived through many trips
A real natural beauty
With some personality
From my lips.

Watch me as I walk,
Confident glow of womanhood at its peak
A lifetime journey ,and stories of which I speak
My aging has never been in vain
A point my look defines
I've got the music in my brain
Can dance, sing, and you will gaze
I can still hold my own on the town
Older and wiser,
Yes, I have been around!

Watch me as I walk
See the mystery
I’ve been living my life more than breathing
I know all the pebbles on the street.
You call me grandmother, wife, sister, daughter or friend
I’ve made my life,
A story I will defend
Just watch me as I walk
Strong woman,
God’s miracle worker
Life holder, heaven sent!

This is a global subject and affects women worldwide. In admiration and respect for all women in all corners of the world who support and promote our young girls and women's rights. This is for the men who support and work with us. In solidarity. Thank You!

Dreamcatcher and The Prince

Dream Catcher and the Prince

Standing above
I look at my prince fast asleep.
He’s one of my favorites
His dreams are memories.
The moments he misses
With mist filled eyes.
A million little kisses
From his mom when alive.

Dreamcatcher, I am
Holder of dreams
Happiness and danger
And other things that are unseen.
I stretch my hand to guide
The light towards my charge
It’s a wonder he’s even sleeping
His happiness is a mirage.

Subconsciously my prince knows
Sun comes out after rain
Hidden deep in his heart
He dreams of his mother again.
Digging deep into his sleep
And my Dreamcatcher’s nest
I’m searching for memories
To help him find rest.

The Dreamcatchers goal
Is to help happiness unfold
Taking him to God
For his mother to hold.
His memories feel sadly real
And this night will require a disguise
I’m hoping his memory mother will visit
To hold him till it’s time to arise.

I send my silver net
Filled with his tears and dreams
She whispers to him
Telling wonderful stories.
As I look at his pillow
And the smile on his lips
This night is a blessing
Of love and pure bliss.

The night comes to an end
And it’s time to go
He awakes with a smile
And a memory from old.
His mother was there
It was a glorious night.
This Dreamcatcher is finished
Until it is night!

Dreamcatcher Tales

Dreamcatcher Tales

The winds blew hard
And the raindrops tip-toed
The shutters banged,
And the doors blew open.
That flash of light,
Sails into a bedroom scene
The dreamcatcher comes knocking
To release your fantasies.

Cinderella had her stories
Snow White and Rapunzel too.
The big book when it opens
tells how dreams can come true.
With a click of the heels,
and red shoes for a prize,
The Dreamcatcher comes knocking,
to give your surprise.

The leprechauns and fairies,
Birds, frogs and trees,
Tell wonderful stories of how things can be.
When the night comes,
the enchantment,
and hidden surprise,
Give life to all the wonders
hidden beneath your Dreamcatcher’s eyes.

Of the stars and the moon,
that play upon your pillow and slumber,
flashes the Dreamcatcher
Who anticipates your wonders.
The butterflies and owls,
are the midnights servers and friends,
bringing all dreams
To a wonderous end.

The Dreamcatchers web,
holds the horrible tales,
the things made for nightmares,
When sadness assails.
With a swift hand and a silver web,
a net that drags away all fears,
leaving feathers, and marshmallows
For sleep without cares.

As the morning light streams in,
awakening with light.
The shadows stretch out,
What a wonderful night.
The Dreamcatcher,
my hero, web weaver supreme,
Thank you for always letting in,
all my wonderful dreams!
