Aging and not wasting time, talents and thankfulness

After seeing gray hairs, I'm thinking! I'm aging. We all are. From the time of our birth we are aging to the point of death. That's the reality of life. I looked at a recent photograph of me and I'm amazed...yes. God sure understands creation and is a creative inventor. Everyone has a talent and its important to discover your unique talent and grow with it. There are days I think that God broke the beautiful mold he had for me and then I look around and see so many beautiful people I think maybe he has one (1) m ... old. It makes a lot of sense if we are "in his image and likeness" that our creator has a mold for the human race and the stuff on the outside is to help us - not him- recognize each other. Thus if we pursue hating others we are in fact hating ourselves and our creator. Our beauty is in our uniqueness a nd not in the shade of our skin or our religious and social beliefs. I'm not a philosopher or a preacher. I'm no...

The Atheist and The Believer

I have been reading and commenting on posts which have peaked my interest on the Medium platform. Many of the posts read are political satire in nature, but some cross thought lines and go deep. Here is my comment on a blog written by Dan Moore ," A letter to God from a Nervous Atheist" and published via 'The Coffeelicious' blog. "Dan, think your thoughts may reflect that of many. I believe in God. I believe his son came to earth , died for us and I believe he sees everything, and knows all before we do. I also believe he gave us freedom of choice, to believe what we want. Your message to him would have been heard if it came from your heart. You will hear him if you believe in him. It takes a lot of inner silence to hear his voice. I do wonder why he allowed that douchebag to win the USA elections, but I guess it’s because things were so good before when free choice worked. Don’t know why God allowed the devil to get Putin and his cheerleader tog...

A Multi-Religious Society Trinidad &Tobago

Culture & Religion Trinidad & Tobago is considered  a multi-cultural and multi-religious state.  I grew up with the understanding that we are not all the same but we are the same, and need to respect each other. As a child, I went to school with children of different races, religions and social status. We were all different shades of color, and different textures of hair. We all wore the same uniform, and combed our hair with two white ribbons ( a girl school). As children we played together and most importantly celebrated and learnt about each other’s religions. There was a religious instruction  class which shared on Christianity (Roman Catholicism), Islam, Hinduism, the three major religions in our society. There were other religions, like the Pentecostal / Evangelical, Orisha Baptists, Baha’i, which we were informed about based on the children in the class. The best thing about religious practices, as a child were the holidays. We were given a day off f...

The World's Trading Currency: People

Deep Thoughts Disclaimer: These thoughts may offend and evoke feelings. They ignited my feelings and compassion for those persons who died or feel in fear for their lives by acts of hate, violence, persecution. Proceed with caution. These are the opinions and thoughts of the author, for respectful contemplation. This smile...It all weighs heavily on my mind. The smile you see hides the depth of pain sometimes felt. It is a reminder that no one or situation can control the corners of your mouth but you. Reality Who goes there? What is your trading currency? Do you let yourself be used as a tool of fear? Has religious idolatry created it's own Armageddon? Boom goes the airport, and we are filled with pain! Turkey Boom goes the theater, and we are filled with pain! France Boom goes the Club, and we are filled with pain! USA Then boom goes the man trumping hatred and fear! Boom, boom! What more can we feel? USA What is happening to life? When will we be able...
