Racism v Vulgarity

The Ugly Truth After reading a few articles and declining to read some more of the world headlines facing me today, I've come to the conclusion, that the world is really in a mess. Let me rephrase; many people in the USA are in a mess - morally, socially, spiritually, humanely. That about sums up my position on racism v vulgarity.  The fact that this can even be a topic of consideration underscores that sensationalism has taken over the more pressing need to solve world hunger crisis, terrorism control, species extinction, hurricane disasters, refugee crisis, human trafficking, global racism and gender biases, and the list goes on.  Twitter has become the tool of many folks who want an excuse to say what they want , when they want and yell "free speech" is our right. Thats a lot of 'bull and poppycock' if you ask me. Things are getting out of hand and while I would like to lay the blame squarely of the not so strong shoulders of the USA president, this...

When Life Pisses You Off...

I cannot save the world. I've been blogging for some time now, and its been an eye opener for me. Who we really are comes from the things we just don't want to change. I'm sorry, just can't stop trying to help others and myself be inspired to want more. Sometimes I can be a pain in the butt, and  can be brutally honest to others, but moreso to myself. This year has been on of those defining times where who I am and what I say matters to me. What I do is even more important. There are so many things to get off my chest, and maybe, instead of looking for the soft words I need to spill the beans. I am appalled that there are people in this world who support 'the pussy grabber' aka new USA president . I'm really tired of being the good girl and keeping quiet about the fact, someone tried to kill me by running me over with a car in November, 2014. Working on the forgiveness angle. I'm no longer angry, but where the hell is justice when there is n...

The Atheist and The Believer

I have been reading and commenting on posts which have peaked my interest on the Medium platform. Many of the posts read are political satire in nature, but some cross thought lines and go deep. Here is my comment on a blog written by Dan Moore ," A letter to God from a Nervous Atheist" and published via 'The Coffeelicious' blog. "Dan, think your thoughts may reflect that of many. I believe in God. I believe his son came to earth , died for us and I believe he sees everything, and knows all before we do. I also believe he gave us freedom of choice, to believe what we want. Your message to him would have been heard if it came from your heart. You will hear him if you believe in him. It takes a lot of inner silence to hear his voice. I do wonder why he allowed that douchebag to win the USA elections, but I guess it’s because things were so good before when free choice worked. Don’t know why God allowed the devil to get Putin and his cheerleader tog...

Standing Rock Sioux- Another Stain on the USA

Some Thoughts… I’ve been following the news for quite some time and hoped there would be a different ending for, the Sioux tribe reservation in Standing Rock, North- south Dakota border, USA.  That was not the case. Sometimes the fire we feel within for good to prevail over evil gets a beating. This is one of those occasions when I’m really wishing and praying for a miracle. Is oil more important than water? Is oil so important that sacred burial lands can be seized to profit the interests of the new USA president and big businesses? I was reading an article by a writer published on Medium, which I seem to do quite a bit these days and my comment on his article was as follows; "When the rich destroy the earth. Standing Rock Sioux will now forever be a stain on the USA government 2017. Big business wins and a president with friends and an interest in the project moving forward has ensured he seeks the interest of self before nation. The grabbing of lands wh...

Controversial or just Keeping It Real!

Hot topics… It can be difficult to press that publish button sometimes. It’s especially hard for me when the subject matter can generate angry negative feelings. Everyone will never share the same point of view on Religion, Sex , Politics. These are ‘hot topics’ and its like striking a match and watching a combustible response when tempers flare. I’ve been publishing some posts of a political nature and its fascinating to watch and sometimes read the comments. Its absolutely insane the way people hate or love. I’m not sure about what happened to sharing opinions and having some fiery discussions with mutual respect as the bar. Hmmm, yes, it seems people have been ignited to revel in hate and anger. The level of uncaring, and condescending disregard for those suffering or in need, makes me fierce. I want to protect and shield those who are forced into a state of loss and displacement from the anger and hatred coming from some corners of t...

The Value Of a Hug

* The world looks on as the United States of America appears to be in self destruction mode. One day it was a world leader of hope, justice, truth, liberty and many positives. The next it was everything we have been taught to dislike and fear - autocratic and totalitarian governing. Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Benito Mussolini, are examples of the type of governments from history’s past which lead totalitarian states. These are changing times, and we must take a stand  for what is right. A refugee’s hug Hug me please I’m on my knees Lost my home, My parents, and I am alone The war it raged, with bombs everywhere . Was left standing, no one seems to care. Hugs should be for free, so I’m asking you Can you open your arms It’s all I can give to you. Hug me please I’m at the airport today My mother’s in there, She was banned in the air. The people inside, won’t let me come in . Being born in a foreign land, right now is a sin A...

The Changing of the Guard

It drawers closer… The thing about history is – something happened previously. It can be moments before, days before, or many ages before. History holds the archives of our decisions, actions and consequences. Slavery, and its oppressive nature happened. The Klu Klux Klan aka KKK was and is real. The brutality against minorities from time immemorial has a place in the bowels of the world. We thought we had moved on… we did not. Obviously.  Oppression, hatred and white supremacy crimes happened and continues to happen. If we look at the western societies which we assume to be civilized, we can see vestiges of something which should never be in our present. To unearth ancient civilizations it takes skilled archeologists to discover under tons of rubble, lost cities and artifacts. Many of these things we use to understand what was there before, and why it no longer is. There are somethings we can all hope to banish into oblivion, so it cannot be found, such a...
