Dwordslayer quotes - Change

This year has been filled with changes. The end is coming and so to the beginning. The one certainty is change, and adapting is a given if we must survive and thrive. This quote is taken from Change, time and relationships  (2018) and gives us something to consider as we move forward. What do you think will be different next year? Do you think you will welcome the new, or will you cling to the old? Going back is not an option, so why not make each change count?  Keep safe. Dwordslayer

Out of the Box Thinking

Innovation and growth are present to disrupt the status quo.  We can learn on many levels and in multiple areas based on differences. The key for growth with differences is to harness newness and build on improvements. Seek out what can make differences work.  Innovate and create building on uniqueness because this is discovery. We are facing different right now. It’s time to think outside of the box. #discovery #disruption #differences #innovation #dream   Find me on: Twitter  https://twitter.com/DLE41  or email:  dwordslayer@gmail.com Photo Credit:  Eirik Uhlen www. unsplash.com © Donna-Luisa Eversley and D-WORDSLAYER, 2020. Seize the day - now!

There are many times we wait for tomorrow. It is not promised.  We may wait for life to change and become more palatable sometimes. Then, there are moments when we wait longingly for hope to step in and make all the changes we desire. Hope is waiting for the future. To wait means standing still and allowing 'hope' to take charge. No matter how you spin it, the future is something we may never see.  Yet we believe that change can happen, and we hope that tomorrow will happen today. Then, time passes. We grow older. Our expectations and wishes may come to fruition or the waiting game will continue. As you read my words I'm sure you are waiting for the subject of this post. Every word that passes should take you to 'what is this all about'. If this is your thought, you have experienced the subject. It is about time. It is about our forevers which can be happening as we speak in real time.  I've been waiting for my kids to grow up. Waiting to get married. Waiting ...

Change, time and relationships

I recently shared on change and relationships on facebook, and wish to add to it here. Change we have learnt is constant. It is ongoing and never static. Yet somehow understanding how change impacts on our lives is mainly focused from a business perspective, in the form of change management and changing culture or changing business dialogue. It's interesting to listen to people talk about their impression of change, because it appears to be automatically accepted - yet it is not automatically understood. Many books are written on emotional intellgence, change management, and changing times. Everything affects people, and relationships, and its important to spend some time focused on how change affects us and the relationships we invest in. People should matter to us because as a person you should matter to you.  Change and time go hand in hand, one does not exist without the other, thus time, change and people are intertwined with newness which is ongoing. We should see...

My sweetest struggle – life

No one prepares us for life . From our development in the womb of a woman, whom we will be birthed from, nothing prepares us for life. Moving from the comfort or discomfort of a small space within a human body we are formed. In love or otherwise our destiny and lives begin with the one we call mother. She is our provider, and nurturer. Life is good. Even when its bad its good. The ability to feel and love is good. To breathe is good. To feel means we are alive. I did not always appreciate this. There have been bad times. Tough times are real and come in varying degrees. There have been times when fear would lead to despair and anxiety. However, from the beginning of my life I had my eldest sister. I always had my family of sisters and my mother. Every family has challenges. Some challenges are visible, and others are hidden. Eventually, perceptions are formed based on external influences, judgements are made and as a child you create your normal space. Just like in the ...

The Mommy Moment

I am so thankful for today . Indeed it is a privilage and honor to pray, believe and receive the blessing of life. Today my daughter turned 21. Yes, this day has come and the level of gratitude and joy felt is immense. Sure when we are pregnant and have our baby, that little life is entrusted to us for a period of time, belonging really to our creator, Jesus Christ. The way life begins and blossoms is amazing. Change is ongoing, as well as innovation and creativity. Every human being is different, and that uniqueness is innovative, creative and a real miracle. I'm not sure how many  of you may have had the experience of nurturing another from a tender age, with an opportunity to see the growth happening right before your eyes. My niece just a week ago turned 25 years old and remarked that she is a quarter of a century, and suddenly I'm looking at my 'almost half a century' in a different light. The little things don't seem to matter anymore and the other...

Creativity, Innovation, Recycling: Opportunity waits for your action

Most entrepreneurs are not afraid to take risks! I started my first business at eighteen . There was a demand for a product which was always out of stock and decided to make my own. At the time I was not thinking about business plans or securing financing, and was clueless about manufacturing. Nevertheless, with boldness and more bravery than ever, I decided to ‘make some money’. Here is the story. Creativity, Innovation & Recycling Shoulder pads were the ‘in thing’. All garments especially ladies dresses, suits and shirts came with shoulder pads. I bought a ‘shoulder shaved pair of foam’ uncovered for $6 to $9 a pair. If it was covered it was upwards of $10. I liked to sew and design and made all my clothes. I was know by the owners and employees at most of the fabric stores because I was always looking for deals. My wages were small, but my desire for fashion was big! Everyday, I went to work for eight hours and returned home after collecting my newborn son fro...

Dwordslayer 2017: Marketing and Everything

Keeping YOU in my loop! To all my followers and readers. I appreciate your support. 2017 has been good. It has brought some challenges which can only make me stronger and maybe change my vision on what I expect for the future. This blog is import to me because you read, share and are a part of my world. For 2017, I made a decision to try to streamline my online musings and content into different categories. Business and career categories will overlap when it comes to my blog platform, because life is not one dimensional. There are many personal reflections on a wide range of topics which will only be published here though shared sometimes on other sites from time to time. We will see how this works and will review as we move forward. I'm also publishing on Medium some specific posts/articles via Thrive Global and Marketing &Growth Hacking publishing sites. The stories on both are quite good and also including links to these home pages. When I publish there I wi...

Just Thinking out loud 6: The winding road

I’m always looking for places to take photographs to share on my blogs. It’s not hard to find images which inspire, as beauty can be found almost anywhere. Seems I’m always back to the point of perspective. If I show you four photos, taken on the same road, do you think they will look the same? Let’s try this.. They all look the same, but have visible differences, which are easy to see. If you were asked what each photo represented, the first answer may be – a road. If you were asked what was the major color in each photo then green would probably be the answer by most folks. My question to you would be, why did the photographer take out the same photo if every one would elicit the same answer? Why was one photo not enough? As the photographer, I will share my thoughts while shooting the photos. The first one was at the beginning of a journey and as I looked ahead, I was amazed at how beautiful the trees and forested area appeared. The blue and white sky connect wit...
