Back as a human 2023

It’s been almost the entire year, but writing has been harder than normal. The words would come into my head but my fingers were not aligning. This afternoon, Frank Sinatra’s ‘All the way’ played in my mind and the words tumbled out of my mouth, and felt it in my heart. Love in its simplest way, is meant to be all the way. And that's more than business. Can one really love all the way? What does being all in mean? As I think on this, loving forever is probably what you get when you're all the way! 2023, I’ve had some highs and lows, good and bad times, and a few in-between times. As the year draws close to an end with sixteen days to go, will the story of 2023 unfold in words, pictures and song …maybe. I've spent a lot of time doing things I have not done, stepped out of my comfort zone of business, and become open to 'what ifs' on another level. Got vulnerable to others, even more trusting, and found a less 'judggy way' with others. Allowed my heart to ge...

My Canopy

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Jiawei Qian   A Canopy of Faith Which I profess My life is a story Of the times, I’ve been blessed. A childhood of joy, mirrored with some pain and sadness But there is always my hope My life in this world.   There are very few times My faith has not been tested Indeed, but for my beloved Jesus My heart would not have rested. This canopy of hope has resulted from my faith The lessons from life Proved my God is great.   I’m covered by a canopy Which keeps me safe at night Giving me protection Cloaking with its light. As my destiny unfolds Let me share this with you Jesus Christ is a canopy; for me and for you. 02/04/2021 Thank you for stopping by. A Rainbow Story

Photo Credits: unsplash.com/Hedi Benyounes Raced up the hill to look outside To see the rainbow colors which cannot hide The grass was wet And down I rolled Beyond my house Far down the narrow road. The birds looked on Chirping in delight The dogs stepped aside To see my disaster flight. The sun shifted past the clouds Exclaiming with glee Come out and let’s play And bring your family! As I landed at the bottom of the hill, Lay on my back, For a moment very still. Gazing up at the sky,  It was simply wonderful to see The rainbow was looking right down at me. What a beautiful sight As the birds made their songs, The puppy and the frogs All jumped up and down. Contentment and joy Descended from above, Softly whispering to me, Here is the rainbow you love! 20/03/2021   Thank you for stopping by. My Happy Alarm - The Dawning

My Happy Alarm – The Dawning   Dawning light shatters my sleep Forgetting the dreams, I wanted to keep My slumber was happy with no end in sight But then came the dawning ending my night.   The shimmering light cascaded to me Waking me up from a wonderful sleep The moment is here another day has begun The dawning has brought out a glimmer of sun.   My feet came out from under the covers And looking out through my window the birdies did hover As I sat for a second, inhaled deeply, looking at them play Welcome to this dawning, and a new day.   I got ready to go outside to my desk With coffee in hand, fully awake from my rest I’m looking forward to tonight when I will once again get to sleep Till I see you tomorrow, dawning- do not peep!   26 th Jan 2021   Photo Credits: unsplash.com/ Kurt Liwanag Copyright © 2021 Dwordslayer& Donna-Luisa Eversley. A Valuable Year

We all waited to come through The sudden darkness of 2020. Eager for a new year which would end The plague felt by many. Yet, the future is still unknown, Even though the hope seems certain.   I do not long to see the end of 2020. There was much learned through the Adversity and different changes which Steam-rolled into the present as we know it.   I saw the homeless and the hungry given food By the man with little to spare. And I saw the woman embrace her spouse whom She had not paused to hold in a while. I saw the children struggle to learn amidst a virtual setting With teachers who knew as much as their students, Yet they both learned to understand together. I saw the parents with little knowledge teach their children The art of learning through a struggle to live. Then there was the business owner who realized his staff Were worth much more than he could ever have paid before And I saw the doctors and nurses dig deeper ...

Seize the day - now!

There are many times we wait for tomorrow. It is not promised.  We may wait for life to change and become more palatable sometimes. Then, there are moments when we wait longingly for hope to step in and make all the changes we desire. Hope is waiting for the future. To wait means standing still and allowing 'hope' to take charge. No matter how you spin it, the future is something we may never see.  Yet we believe that change can happen, and we hope that tomorrow will happen today. Then, time passes. We grow older. Our expectations and wishes may come to fruition or the waiting game will continue. As you read my words I'm sure you are waiting for the subject of this post. Every word that passes should take you to 'what is this all about'. If this is your thought, you have experienced the subject. It is about time. It is about our forevers which can be happening as we speak in real time.  I've been waiting for my kids to grow up. Waiting to get married. Waiting ...

You are Entitled to Happiness

You are entitled to Your happiness! Yes, that's right, you actually own the rights to your happiness. You have a choice every day, to wake up and smile. You can be happy at the beginning of the day, and during the day, and yes, before you go to sleep, it’s okay to be happy. During this year 2020, the world has fallen to its knees. Everyone, in all countries of the world are focused on something we have no control over. The Coronavirus Covid_19 has become a common denominator in conversations. It’s the one thing we can agree matters to most of us, and our families. It has become of source of fear, a sense of dread, and even a mood of hope. In the darkest moments we can find hope. The Fear is based on what we don’t know, and because there seems to be a lot of certainty surrounding a cure. While the World Health Organization (WHO) has given general and basic guidelines for global management, it’s the managing or lack thereof which triggers fear. The sense of dread is rea...

Musings of a mother-in-law to be - Break it to me gently!

“Mom, I’m getting married at the end of next month!” That’s how my beloved first child, my son, told me of his upcoming nuptials. He did not sit me down and give me some tea, or even a glass of water. No way, he just ‘dropped it like it was hot’. It was decisive and a done deal. Us mums are not to be mistaken for the flowers called ‘mums’, sitting calmly and nicely waiting to be watered to bloom. We bloom within chaos and calm! I was stunned. It should have been expected but I guess there was that illusion of innocence allowed to cloud my vision. We know our babies will become men and women and leave us. In my case, I’ve been hoping I can leave them in like manner before they do the wedding march. Mum and son conversation “Son I really want to get married. Was waiting for you guys to grow up, but can’t seem to meet anyone. Maybe its too late, am I too old?” Son looks up in the air and then at mum, “ well I guess you won’t meet anyone within this house so you...

Life and Lemonade

Thankful for Lemonade Seems like I know a lot of sick/ ill folks. Sometimes life throws us lots of lemons, and after making lemonade, you get tired. This is the reality of prolonged illness or disability. I've found its a lot easier to smile and laugh in the face of challenges and pain. It does get better because out tolerance is heightened with our effort to improve our state of being. As I think about the funny stuff I've seen, and the way I feel looking at others smile, I realize the only difference in happiness is choice. We can gripe about a lot of stuff... and everyone can outdo each other in the 'woe is trouble' department. However, I've been doing a silent challenge this year, and maybe you can try it. The Challenge Look in the mirror and laugh at yourself. Be self- depreciating about your crooked teeth, or squinty eyes, or big butt! I have all sometimes. But find a way to laugh at you. Lighten up. There are a lot of folks out ...

Surrendering to Courage

We belong This was written a number of weeks ago, and maybe its the time to be published. Right now 'courage' is needed more than before in my lifetime and maybe yours. I have a vested interest in this world, and so do you. We live here. We breathe here. We belong here, whatever color , creed, race, religious belief, social status, political belief, and the rest. It takes all that I have and then some more to have courage sometimes. No one can claim to have weathered a storm without experiencing courage. A lion does not have to be courageous unless he has to protect his loved ones or himself. What does it mean to have courage in the face of adversity and is it something one can have when one surrenders? Finding our courage Imagine with me - a man leaves his family and goes to work daily and patrols the streets as a policeman. He is prepared for adversity and criminal elements. One day he is faced with a decision to save a civilian, and may need to distract the crimi...

beBee Affinity Networking - Carpe Diem!

Feeling the Honey, when it's missing.. Yesterday I finally got the notice from our postal service that my beBee package was released. Finally.  My "honey" was seized, because honey  needs approval license to import, even a small gift. We have a pretty decent honey market locally thus the bees and market are protected. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to see the label with my name on it. I felt the love "Team beBee" on this side of the world. Well when all you hope to receive is not there what do you do? Do you celebrate what you have, and can you "Carpe Diem"- seize the moment? Well I sure can today! Let's face it, the postal service is dying and I love receiving from them. The changes in technology makes the human interface limited sometimes, unless you 'carpe diem', and find the 'networking affinity' to interface! In rolls social media - beBee.com I've been a fan of Archie Comics from a child and I love the sweetness...

Reflections on ALL.. A Mindset to Live!

An Attitude Today as I reflect on ALL that we have I am grateful and appreciative for this wonderful life I awake to. From my Facebook page, my thoughts.. "This life is worth so much more than we know as we live it! Amazing! This year I started off declaring, with each moment given I will live. Whatever my struggles and challenges with my spiritual, health, family, relationships, work, and everything else - I will live each precious moment. This has been an active mindset- and heart set change which is reinforced often. The results of this change shows everyday... I visit one of my doctors every couple weeks and the receptionist is my paparazzi. She takes these great pictures, and I can see the difference in me. Seems my friends can also :-) .. Thanks for all the great comments and phone calls on the transformation as this journey called life continues. The light in me is more a reflection of my acceptance of the precious jewel we all have called life! It is rare, it is u...

An Eclipse unveiled - 2015/2016

Ending any year can be a reflective process. It is drawing near, the time to share a message to close off one year and start another. This makes me think about an eclipse. As the blocking, shadowing or covering of something which will be revealed again- is like a rebirth. Can this be the way we end one year and enter into the new unknown? Getting past the last twelve month period is something  longed for and dreaded at the same time. I knew where I was and the changes. People and events changed, but the future is shrouded in a veil of darkness or maybe it’s overflowing with light. It slowly comes from its shadowed past to reveal a difference if we let the light in. The eclipse It did hoover and gently move to the side To show its beauty, it timed the reveal The darkness on show was of a great appeal The riches it gathered, was never its glory Under the cover of time, the glow became dim The shadows engraved the earth with its weight But the woods could not h...
