Climbing the knowledge Wall

An adventure awaits... We are limited only by what we 'choose not to know'. Early last year I started to blog on a social media platform which is Spanish in origin - beBee.com . I was invited to visit the site and began publishing soon after. Its been a rollercoaster of learning and understanding people, their cultures and languages! Indeed, there is a very diverse range of cultures which we would never know, unless we choose to go out and find it. There is much to learn from what we do not understand because we have never had an experience. The internet has made it possible for us to interact and interface with many countries and languages, and its all fascinating. My reverie  As a teenager I studied Spanish in school. I did not wish to learn Spanish, I was drawn to French, but they were a pair, and to do one you had to accept the other. There was a fieldtrip to Venezuela, which is very close to Trinidad, but my mother could not afford to send me. I did not go ...

I Challenge You...

The song "You raise me up" never fails to bring tears to my eyes. It does not make me sad. If anything, I am filled with a passionate feeling of courage and a desire to excel. There are many songs which will inspire and some can motivate action - for me that song does it! In 2016, I spent seventy-five percent of my blogging time on this great new social media platform called beBee.com, and it was quite an interesting year filled with a lot of growth, engagement and feelings. We build many relationships online. This is a new way of meeting and forging relationships with people whom we gravitate to through some level of affinity. In the last few weeks of the year 2016, I realized my life now included a group of individuals I can call friends, who I had never met face to face but through consistent interaction, sharing and sometimes verbal discussions. For some the use of WhatsApp, skype, and Facebook were extensions of our growing affinity, which started via beBee....

Just Thinking out loud - Control

Random Thoughts Blogging has been for me, a way to share as much as I know with the rest of the world. These are my thoughts and examples from my own experiences, so I guess you can say - Dwordslayer shares a real person! There are days I need encouragement to read, and then there are moments when comforting, interaction exchanges matter. Right now, at this very moment, my 'happy' wants to jump out, but its being held by somethings I can't fully control. Today, I'd like to talk about the things which I can't control and how blogging has helped me get to this point of healing a broken body. Musical mind There is a song for every feeling. Every mood and nuance of life has rhythm. Just imagine how you feel when you're excited and listen to the matching sound which fills you at the thought. I can feel a dose of Salsa filling me with excitement, and immediately it reflects my feelings. (Conga - Gloria Estefan) Now imagine , fear, sadness and pain. F...

beBee Affinity Networking - Carpe Diem!

Feeling the Honey, when it's missing.. Yesterday I finally got the notice from our postal service that my beBee package was released. Finally.  My "honey" was seized, because honey  needs approval license to import, even a small gift. We have a pretty decent honey market locally thus the bees and market are protected. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to see the label with my name on it. I felt the love "Team beBee" on this side of the world. Well when all you hope to receive is not there what do you do? Do you celebrate what you have, and can you "Carpe Diem"- seize the moment? Well I sure can today! Let's face it, the postal service is dying and I love receiving from them. The changes in technology makes the human interface limited sometimes, unless you 'carpe diem', and find the 'networking affinity' to interface! In rolls social media - beBee.com I've been a fan of Archie Comics from a child and I love the sweetness...

Welcome to "Bee Social" Hive

To"beBee" or To beBee  that is the question? Well friends, I'm sure by now you may have heard about a new social media platform called beBee.    This social media site originates from Spain and has buzzed its way to the Top of my social media listing. In fact, when you like something a lot you want to see it grow. Like an adopted child I've embraced this website and its 'affinity style' of being social. The owners have made it their business to be around, and they are quite good at being present.   This beBee affinity social media network embraces its followers, and bloggers. To grow they've been letting the people who are using the site promote the site - and have appointed Ambassadors over the months from their international blogging community. Yes, we love this so much we are helping folks we have only met online grow this community - so this is international integration and affinity!    As the world continues to build international ...

Googlers, Pens and growing up!

A small thought can lead to the profound… This morning  while sharing some thoughts on my childhood with two of my children, I looked at myself in the mirror. I have a pair of glasses which I consider ‘googlers’. These spectacles are not my favorite, but they have the most features. I could not find my sunshades and resorted to their photo-grade feature of darkening with the sun. Thus began this whimsical conversation as I asked, “How did Google decide on the name google,  I wonder if they were thinking of googlers?” My son and daughter looked at me mystified and wary of how I would respond to this rhetorical question? I have this strange habit when I’m thinking to ask and answer questions all at once. Then of course a historical moment of reminiscing, brought forth the following; “When I was at school we called some spectacles ‘googlers’. Googlers were the type of frames and lenses which brill...

Canada – bebee-haven

The land of honey and words… This all started with the 4th of July and a feature on some of the USA writers / bloggers who inspire me on their  blogging sites  and bebee.com It was the beginning of a thought, a mini light-bulb glowed. I’m always thinking about how I can share great stories which inspire, by those who are brave and willing to write. After much thought and some planning, I do think there are quite a few places I can visit through the authors of wonderful words. Join with me as I journey with some friends and have a buzzing time with their honey! There are quite a few hot and sweet links in this post, so here is a challenge – if you can get to all just post in comments the number of links I’ve added, with a smiley face. You win, when you have gotten the gold hidden within! Jim Murray – I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Jim about a week ago via Skype and it was amazing. Imagine, just having a chat, face to face, with someone who has a wealth of kn...

Interviews and Beyond: Franci Eugenia Hoffman

We can learn a lot about a person from their past and their present, and if they will let us look beyond, we can find their hidden possibilities . This interview is about the way our imagination works. It is just a way of the storyteller, sharing another story. Each story is different, and yet they hold a treasure chest of  hope and possibilities ! I have asked Franci Eugenia Hoffman aka 'Brew & Spew' to embark on this challenge. This beautiful woman on your left looks like she is gazing deeply into your eyes, her thoughts hidden...at least for a short while! That smile says, "I see you" (hahaha) For our readers, imagine we are having a cup of coffee, whatever your favorite brew, and your thoughts go somewhere else. That wonderland is where my thoughts went as I sat imagining conversations with some of my favorite bloggers. Today I am pleased to share the questions and answers from this amazing writer. Sit back and relax as we go beyond the past to...

As I beBee ME!

Reflection I’ve had my own share of challenges on this journey called life. Sometimes we get more, much more than we feel we can handle, but yet we press on. We do not have an option to give up on this beautiful today every morning when we open our eyes.  My right hand hurts with each key that I press as I type, but each day it gets easier. My eyes and my heart feel courage which at times waver when the uncertain casts its shadow. It is then I hear that  voice which reminds me of who I am, and who has made and formed me in his image and likeness. Then there is a peace and wonder, which challenges me to be all that I can be. Last week I had the honor of being asked to be interviewed, and the gentleman, Michael Hillebrand lit a fire, and the words came out like a blaze ignited. The blogging community has been ‘my healing well’. It’s been a great place to rest and recover, heal and be revived. As each question was asked the desire to give and share more with this buzzi...

COFFEE – MY WAY

A ritual begins There are some things in life which leave a lasting impression. I love coffee!  Some rituals we learn  as we grow, coffee has been with me for as long as I can remember. As a toddler I recall my grandfathers on both sides of the family, sharing coffee with us when we visited for vacations. On my dad’s side my grandpa would give us these little miniature china cups (a few years ago I realized they were espresso cups) early every morning after we said our morning prayer! He brewed coffee in a peculator and it had the perfect mix of cream and sugar. We had to drink it quickly, and it was hot, but what a way to start your day! Grandpa would then send us back to our rooms to get ready for the day, while he prepared breakfast with my grandmother, a formal affair at their home. My grandfather  on my mother’s side of the family is of Amerindian descent linked to the Caribs, the indigenous people of the ‘new world’ discovered by Christopher Columbus. Ear...
