Give Yourself More

Give yourself the power of more through learning!  The last six months of this pandemic has given me some great opportunities to explore LinkedIn Learning as well as a number of courses online via Coursera. I love learning, and as I try to focus on completing my major studies, it is good to work on my weak areas. Understanding the many things I can do with Microsoft  Excel has been the biggest reward from LinkedIn Learning to date - and worth the subscription. It is not a walk in the park, as its self-learning and best to practice each skill. A course which is 4 hours can become 4 or 14 days based on attention and effort. Credentials are only as good as the work you are able to do after certification, thus I’m suggesting you spend the time to get it done right. Also, the videos are amazingly well done in bite sizes, and easy to follow. Adding the link here for you to check out the Excel Lessons selected. Climbing the knowledge Wall

An adventure awaits... We are limited only by what we 'choose not to know'. Early last year I started to blog on a social media platform which is Spanish in origin - beBee.com . I was invited to visit the site and began publishing soon after. Its been a rollercoaster of learning and understanding people, their cultures and languages! Indeed, there is a very diverse range of cultures which we would never know, unless we choose to go out and find it. There is much to learn from what we do not understand because we have never had an experience. The internet has made it possible for us to interact and interface with many countries and languages, and its all fascinating. My reverie  As a teenager I studied Spanish in school. I did not wish to learn Spanish, I was drawn to French, but they were a pair, and to do one you had to accept the other. There was a fieldtrip to Venezuela, which is very close to Trinidad, but my mother could not afford to send me. I did not go ...

Seeing The Glass For What It Is

The Light Yesterday I saw one of my doctors, and realized my journey will be long. I knew this before, but it only hit me ( a big wallop) last night. I have ongoing pain. Some days are better than others, but I am alive. For those following my journey you will know this year I decided I must live, live, live. Whatever your story, whatever your struggle, whatever your challenges - you are alive to see another dawn. I have over thirty plus years experience in "sales and business development"and most aspects of  both fields. Tough times don't change unless you get tough and wise. For life to be sustained you have to find a way to balance the challenges of your professional life and your personal reality. I have had the privilege to be an entrepreneur  working in a regional market with an international supplier and a local base. I have had successes and I've had my share of failures, all adding to my practical experience. Most importantly though, I have had th...

Let's Talk ..Communication 3

Focus on the details! Having a conversation and sharing information, can require some level of knowledge. If someone says “the sky looks blue today, but will be gray later on – what do you think?” its a good idea to know about the weather and colors. If the conversation is on current affairs, your business sector and local markets – having some basic knowledge of your industry is great. Information is out there and its available. Don’t try to fudge your way through – be the one everyone wants an opinion from! Focus on the details of life and the world around you and beyond. There’s no need to be a rocket scientist – just have an informed opinion shaped from what you know! Tip Communication is a two way street. You can drive up and get information and then drive town to share it! Just be the driver and focus on the details! Learning comes through shared information and opinions, and its a great way to develop relationships! #Communication #Focus #Details #Opinion #Knowl...
